Establishment Cost: AU$200 to cover: (a) starter catalogues; (b) Daily-Update book samples and materials (provided at min. 75% discount); (c) 1000 colour business cards; (d) 2 canvas DU bags for conveying books to clients; and (e) shipment of the above in a carton to anywhere in the world.
This is a one-off establishment cost (no more to pay)
If you’re vitally interested in English education, you may also be interested in representing Daily-Update Publishers within your neighbourhood. This position would particularly suit education enthusiasts such as retired or student teachers, home school parents, and owners of English schools.
You will be approaching private and government schools, language institutes, pre-schools, kindergartens and book stores within your region. You may also be setting up seminars with teachers, principals or parents, or perhaps displaying books at shows and conferences.
Your sales region will be as agreed with us. Generally, we divide each country in the world up into areas based on states, provinces, districts, House of Representatives electorates or cities, as specified in the contract. You just stake your claim in a region. If you think you can handle it, you can claim more than one region as your exclusive sales territory. Should you bite off more than you can chew, there’s no penalty other than the contractual right of Daily-Update to reassign the poorly performing region to someone else (see Clause 20(b) in the CONTRACT).
This basically becomes your own bookselling business, since you have: (a) your own hours; (b) your own sales strategy suited to your locality; (c) no imposed sales targets; and (d) the exclusive right to sell our materials in your local region.
We even recognize that you will build up goodwill in your business so we allow you to sell, hand down, or otherwise assign your sales region, subject to our approval of the whole deal and subject to our right to reassign sales regions with low sales figures.
We offer very generous commissions, starting at 10% and most commonly at 15%, as well as bonuses (see the CONTRACT for further details).
The ideal applicant will be self-motivated, creative, very good at English and have excellent communication skills. If you like meeting people and discussing education, you’ll love this job.

Illustrator - Paintings for Children’s Picture Books
Wanted for a variety of projects as they arise, from individual books to whole series. Must be exceptionally good at colourful illustrations, preferably in oil, watercolour, pastels and acrylics. There will occasionally be a deadline, so speed would be an advantage.
Must be able to paint people and animals both realistically and in a cartoon style.
You will work from home and the contract is work-for-hire.

Programmer - to Convert Books into e-Books
We have many books that need to be converted into e-books.
The book files will be in MS Word, PDF or InDesign. The average book length is 100 pages, but it varies.
Would you please provide 2 quotes:
(a) price to convert 100 pages of text into Mobipocket and MS Reader
(b) price to convert 100 pages of text and illustrations into Mobipocket and MS Reader
Please indicate how long it would take you to provide each 100-page book. This project would be ongoing provided that you can provide a quick turnaround whenever we supply new books. We will usually supply just one or two books at a time.
